Defensive Carbine is a 16-hour class covering use of
the carbine in defensive or combative applications. The new shooter will learn combative
marksmanship, both accurate and precision fire, manipulations, moving and
shooting, and the communication skills necessary combative
situations. For experienced
shooters this class will refine and improve your combative skills.

Firearms Instructor Recertification Course
November
17-18, 2009
The Gadsden Police Department, in cooperation with the
Federal Bureau of Investigation, will present an FBI Firearms Instructor
Recertification Course. The course
will begin at 8:00 A.M. at the Gadsden Police Department’s Pierce
Range Training Facility. This
course is limited to twenty (20) students.
This course is only for current FBI Firearms Instructors to
recertify and not NRA or any other firearms instructors.
The APOSTC is requiring any instructor who instructs
or assists with the instruction at an academy to be recertified every
three (3) years.
The first day will have night firing. Twenty hours (20) of classroom and
range training will be conducted during these two days.
Equipment requirements are:

Semi-auto handgun with leather gear, 4
magazines, and a minimum of 700 rounds of ammunition
·
Shotgun (12 gauge) with 20 rounds of
rifled slugs, 20 rounds of buckshot, and 25 rounds of birdshot
·
Patrol rifle and 200 rounds of ammunition
·
Ballistic Vest
·
Flashlight
·
Eye and ear protection
We must have your registration form to guarantee your
seat in the course. Registration
deadline is 1 week prior to course date.
If
for some reason you are unable to attend the course and we are not
informed of your cancellation by fax, e-mail, or letter, you will not be
afforded the opportunity to attend training hosted by the Gadsden Police
Department for a period of 1 year.
